چکیده

The rapid development and application of nuclear technology have been accompanied by the production large amounts radioactive wastes, which Sr is a typical nuclide. In this study, six materials with strong adsorption properties, namely activated carbon, kaolin, montmorillonite, bentonite, zeolite, attapulgite, were selected. Their mechanisms investigated analyzing their isotherms, kinetics, micromorphologies, element contents, specific surface areas, crystal structures, functional groups. results showed that efficiency adsorbents can be ranked as among maximum capacity zeolite was 4.07 mg/g. Based on kinetic thermodynamic fitting results, zeolites, bentonite attapulgite consistent Langmuir model, pseudo-first-order pseudo-second-order process (II) carbon kaolinite Freundlich model corresponds to non-uniform adsorption. main are physical adsorption, ion exchange complexation. summary, especially highly effective for treatment wastewater containing strontium great value in wastes.

Adsorption and removal of strontium in aqueous solution by synthetic hydroxyapatite

Hydroxyapatite (HAP) is a main mineral constituent of bone and tooth and has an outstanding biocompatibility. HAP is a possible sorbent for heavy metals in wastewater due to its high adsorption capacity and low water solubility. We developed a removal system of 90Sr from aqueous solution by HAP column procedure. More than 90 % of 90Sr was adsorbed and removed from the 90Sr containing solution. ...

Removal of Dye by Adsorption: A Review

Dye removal from industrial wastewater is an important environmental concern. So far, various physical and chemical treatment methods have been reviewed for the removal of dyes such as biological degradation, ion exchange, chemical precipitation, reverse osmosis, coagulation, flocculation, etc. However, these treatment processes have their limitations such as high cost, generation of toxic slud...

Iodide, caesium and strontium adsorption by organophilic vermiculite

Soils represent an important filter and buffer system for many cations and anions. Generally, their sorption properties are determined by the contents and compositions of clay minerals and humic substances. A great part of the soil organic matter is associated with clay minerals forming organomineral complexes (Greenland, 1965) which are of pronounced importance with respect to element transpor...
